War comes to Hunger Games
Authors Note: This Is an essay comparing War Comes to Willy Freeman and Hunger Games
What if you had to head out to search for your mom because she was captured, and you have to go alone because you have witness your father’s death, or you’re sister has been nominated to the hunger games, but you take her place so she doesn’t die. Well in the book War Comes to Willy Freeman and Hunger Games, that is exactly what has happen in these two books. Willy ends up trying to find her mother, and Katniss ends up being in this game called Hunger Games, and you have to kill people to survive, and come out of this game.
In War Comes to Willy Freeman, she sets out to find her mother. Now in the book Hunger Games, Katniss doesn’t do the same thing she ends up trying to win this game, but one thing that they have in common is that they kill people, and there doing these events for their mom. Another thing that both characters have in common is the fact that both of their dads died, in a brutal way. In the beginning Willy helps her dad, just like Katniss helps her dad. The only difference Katnisse’s dad used to work for coal, and Willy’s dad fought for Americans.
Now what you would you say if that Willy and Katniss were almost exactly alike. Well they are they both love and care for their mom, there doing everything for there mom. There is a difference in War Comes to Willy Freeman and Hunger Games. Willy finds her mom, but she dies. But Katniss doesn’t need to find her mother she is in this game to help her mother, not save her.
Another reason they are similar but different is that Katniss has a sibling and Willy doesn’t. Willy doesn’t know what it feels like to have a brother or a sister to care for or to look up to. Katniss has a younger sister her name is Prim. She is about 10, so if you were in her eyes you would look up to your older sister Katniss. Katniss and Willy both have an animal to care for. Willy has a cow, but later she dies because she was stabbed by black people. Katniss has a cat who is very ugly, but she listens and she is one the best cats you could ever get.

Why did you do that?
Authors note: This is a short response telling you Cause & Effect
My book War Comes to Willy Freeman is about a girl who ends up seeing her father die in front of her eyes. And her mother gets captured by the British, and is force to be a slave for the rest of her life or until she dies, whichever comes first. The only way she can go get her mom back home safely is by dressing as boy, undercover.
There are many cause’s and effect’s, such as her dad dying. Her mother being captured. One Cause and effect I’m going to tell you is Her dying. The cause was the town’s people in Fort Griswold were forced to fight for their land if they didn’t want to be slaves. So Willy’s dad was the second most powerfulness, so he went out to battle. When the town’s people were in there “castle” the red coats came in and killed everyone except for Willy. So the cause Is Willy’s dad goes into battle and the effect was that he dies or in other words “Murdered”
I hope I have told you everything about Cause and effect, this book reminds me of Alex rider. The cause is that his uncle died and because of that Alex has to become an agent to take his spot. He had to go through months of training, but now he is one the best agents on the team.

All about Point of View
Author’s notes: This is a short response about my book War comes to Willy Freeman
What if you saw your father die before your eyes, and you run over to your house searching for your mother, then soon found out she was captured. In the book War Comes to Willy Freeman. Willy is a young girl who witnesses her father’s death, after she made it home she found out something almost as bad as her father’s death. Her mother has been captured; Willy soon set out on a journey to look for her mother, not as a girl though, undercover as a boy.
First, Willy has witnessed her father’s death, which affects her greatly. Another event that hurts her same as her father dying is that when she arrived to her house she searched for her mother but she was nowhere. She finds out that her mother has been captured. Not so innocent
Authors note: This is an essay about who lost their innocence and why.
What if you went to jail when you were 10,but your parents don't even care, what if your parents died and you went from a good kid to a bad kid. This all happened in the book Outsiders. Lots of people have lost their innocence in this book, but im going to explain to you who lost it.
One specific event is, when Johnny goes to jail when he was 10, and his parents didn’t even care! He lost his innocence because he went to jail at such an early age, from there forward he really didn’t care. He also lost his innocence, because when the church was burning down full of people he went in and saved them, You wouldn’t think he lost his innocence but he did because he was a greaser, greasers don’t really care about anything but their pack and their self.
Another specific event is Darry. He lost his innocence when his parents died from their it went downhill for him. He was getting really bad grades, he was also getting into fights in school, and he quit football. He eventually quit high school and became a greaser which I said in the second paragraph “greasers don’t really care about anything but their pack and their self.” He also started to beat on Ponyboy.
One Last specific event is Ponyboy. He didn’t really lose his innocence he was really a good kid, he made good grades he played a sport it was cross country, and he was actually fairly nice not like other greasers. After the big fight between the Socs and the greasers (the rumble), Darry and Ponyboy went to see Johnny in the hospital, before Johnny dies he says to Ponyboy “Stay gold pony boy, stay gold” What does that mean you ask it means that he should stay the way he is never get in trouble keep on the right track.
This book kind of reminds me of the book Hunger Games. Who lost their innocence was Katniss, she reminds me of Johnny. She didn't really have parents that cared, the only difference is that she didn't have dad. She lost her innocence by killing 12 people in the hunger games. Another character that lost their innocence was Peeta, he reminds me of PonyBoy. Peeta is a really smart kid he doesn't do anything wrong and overall he "stays gold."
This essay overall should have told you who lost their innocence, and why. Darry Johnny and Ponyboy all lost their innocence because of what they did because their parents didn't care, or their parents died. But in the end it doesn't even matter.

Authors note: This is a letter to Darry explaining why he should a little less hard on Ponyboy and tell him he’s a little too young to get married
Dear Darry,
Why would you want to get married at such an early age, you have so much time to get married, don’t rush just go with the flow. I know that you parents died and everything and you probably want to live your life as fast as you can, but don’t worry about it. Also why would you do that to Sodapop? Just because your parents died doesn’t mean you have to be mean to him and become a greaser you should have stayed in school made the good grades, graduate and maybe get a football scholarship let life take its course. “When life gives you lemons you make lemonade.”

We had a very close game, I mean it was a good game till you came up to bat thinking you’re the best and going to win the ball game with a home-run. You have been a great player and a awesome season and we made it all the way to the last playoff game, and you made us lose! For that reason and that reason only I can trade you to the Cleveland Indians or take 2 million of your salary. And if you think you get more money your wrong they will pay you only a 100 dollars more. They want you for some reason and I’m giving you the decision, and I look forward to see you at the conference to make your final decision.

Last and most important, it’s a great way to learn to be a team a family and find each other strengths and weakness and help them out with their weakness and make it better. Therefore you have to know each of your team mates front and back and treat each person like family and you have to know each and every play so you know what to do in a game so you don’t let your team/family down.

I'm proud for the "USA"
Authors note: This is a paragraph about why I’m proud for my country
A lot of people would say their proud of their country many will say no, but I'm one of the people who are saying yes I'm proud of my country
I'm proud of my country for many reasons, a reason why is because we were searching for Bin laden, and when we found him we went into his land and killed him. I'm so proud of the brave men that did that. The only bad part was that we went to do that mission ended up dying (shoot down.) Another reason would be that we have the option to choose our leader some cant, and they could end up starting a war that you never did it when it could have been the leaders fault, and if he makes up this law, we have people who can reject this law or accept this law. Lastly, we have people who turn 18 and then go to the military not collage, they don’t really care about their life’s all they really care about is that there fighting for their country, and they know that there making their family and more people proud.

Football is great

It was a normal day and I was shooting some hoops when I see my dad pull in to the driveway. I run up to him and I asked him what you doing here so early. And he said I’m going to pack, I started to moan because he always goes to trips with out us, but he said “Hey B you should come pack with me too.” When I asked him he said “we are all going to Florida.” I cheered with happiness. I ran inside packing my stuff and when I asked my dad what time are we leaving he said “3am,” I replied back that’s really early and he said “yes I know.”
After I got done packing for our last minute trip I went outside to see if my friends Josh and Kyle can come out and they couldn’t, neither could my other friend Jack. So I went to shooting hoops again. And to make the day better we went out to eat. We went to somewhere we haven’t eaten before and it was really good. After that we went home to go to sleep.
“RING RING RING” I woke up and I was really tired it was 3 am just like me dad said and so I got ready I took a quick shower and put my clothes on. I sat there for about 30 minutes to wait for my mom and dad to get ready and I remembered to wake my brother up so I went into his room and woke him up. And he was so much more tired than I was. He took like 20 minutes to get ready. When we were ready we took my moms PT cruiser. And we stooped for gas and some hot chocolate. It was really good and my brother thought so too. It took maybe 30 minutes to get there and we listed to some pop music. And I looked out my window and saw that there was barely anybody up, “well that kind of makes sense bailey it really early,” said my mom.
We got to the airport and we had to wait for my dad to park and get to the entrance witch takes about 15 minutes. So I sat down and played on my reclaim witch was a kind of cool phone. I was ready to fall asleep but I knew if I did I wouldn’t get up till 8am and it was 4:30am. And then my dad cam sop we waited in line till it was our turn to get our tickets. When we got our tickets we went up to our concourse and sat and waited till we had to leave and we got the airplane that has TV’s. But we got bumped off our flight so we got another set of tickets to go to Arizona .
And we tried another flight but we got bumped off that flight too. So my mom was about to say screw it we are leaving to go to home, but my dad came up with going to Colorado and then going to Arizona. So we tried that and we made that flight and we stooped for some lunch cause it was around 12. And we went to a Mexican restaurant and I got nachos they were good.

Football
When summer comes me and my friends are going to gather a lot of kids so we can play football. I like football because there are so many positions that I bet you can make at least one of them. I played fullback, linebacker, quarterback, Tightened, wide receiver, and a halfback. So you see I played a lot of positions. I've played for all my life except for 3rd grade because I broke my wrist, but I played tackle football except for 3rd cause again I broke my wrist. Other than that I played tackle. I made a recorded for the most interceptions.
I made 23 interceptions my average was 3 but I was rewarded for that. I was also MVP. I'm kind of growing out of football, but it’s a stress reliever for when I get really mad I take it out on other people on the football field. I'm really in to basketball and baseball but football is basically my life so why would I turn it down. The day I broke my wrist I knew it broke I couldn’t move any part near my left hand. And the worst part we had tickets to go to six flags but we couldn’t go because of me. I felt really bad.
That reminds me I had braces before and during football I had to use a special mouth piece. I my braces actually weren't safe. I got hit pretty hard and I eventually started bleeding in my mouth because my braces hit my cheek so hard that I started to gushing blood from my mouth . And my coach asked me if I should call my dad and I said I was okay but I really wasn’t but I knew my dad would be mad so I sucked it up. When I got home it was ok my a big piece of my skin was missing and I think I swallowed it.
That also reminds me of the time I was playing nerf dart tag and I was running and when I jumped I swallowed a bug I think it was like a betel that was small but I don’t know but what I do know is that when I got home my stomach didn’t feel good so I went to the bathroom and something cam out the attic and it wasn’t pretty.
I made 23 interceptions my average was 3 but I was rewarded for that. I was also MVP. I'm kind of growing out of football, but it’s a stress reliever for when I get really mad I take it out on other people on the football field. I'm really in to basketball and baseball but football is basically my life so why would I turn it down. The day I broke my wrist I knew it broke I couldn’t move any part near my left hand. And the worst part we had tickets to go to six flags but we couldn’t go because of me. I felt really bad.
That reminds me I had braces before and during football I had to use a special mouth piece. I my braces actually weren't safe. I got hit pretty hard and I eventually started bleeding in my mouth because my braces hit my cheek so hard that I started to gushing blood from my mouth . Spongebob
SpongeBob is awesome he is also not that bright but at least he isn't Patrick. I remember one episode when SpongeBob kept getting trophies and trophies, and Patrick wasn’t to happy about that in the end he got is very own trophy. I forgot what episode that was but I liked it. Sponge bob made a lot of episodes he's famous for his saying IM READY IM READY. Sponge bob is on all the time still and their still making new episodes like the lost city of Atlantis.

Baseball
A couple of days ago we decided to play whiff-a-ball so we made our teams it was 3 on three Josh Jack and me. We were home so we pitched first top of the first the other team didn't get a run. So it was our turn. I hit the ball flew down the right field and right before my brother caught the ball he tripped and I got to third base. Josh was up and he decided to bunt it they went to throw to first but the pitcher through it to high so we were I was able to get home, but josh only got to second. Now it is Jacks turn He hit a pop fly and they caught it so again it was my turn but I struck out. Josh went to up to the plate and he got hit he took his base. Jack again but he hit a grounder and he go out. Now to the top of the 9th and it was us 4 and they had 2 they got to runs on us we were up on the bottom of the 9th. And of course we won I got home and it was all over we won I cant believe it. I stole third base and I slid we had 2 outs and I went for it and I did it. To bad it wasn’t tape. Hey that give me an idea :)

Basketball
One day I was playing basketball with my friends and we decided to make teams so it was Josh and I vs Kyle and jack. We played for at least one hour we played 5 minute quarters and we went to overtime . The score was 34 34 I made the last basket to tie it up then when Kyle had the ball I stole it and held it for the last 5 secs. Then when we went to overtime and we scored 54 and Kyle and jack had 52 and I thought we were going to win but jack drained a 2 at the free throw line. So we went into double overtime.
We were up by 4 it was 86 to 82 and they had the ball with 20 seconds and they shot and made the basket. So it was 84 to 86 and we had the ball josh and I said we were going to do and ally up so he shot and missed I took the ball and slam-dunked it but my hands slipped off and I landed on my back then my head bounced off the concrete.
I spat up blood but I was ok so they tied it up and I went for the last shot and I missed they got the ball back and they shot 3……2……1……. And they missed but thy fouled me so I got a 1 & 1 I missed again then if I made it then I would win I mean our team would win so I go to shoot I was confident and then I………………………………………………..made it I did it we won it took forever but we won.

Games
Games are cool they can have good graphics and bad graphics. Its amazing how we started out as little kids thinking the GameCube or the Playstation was the best thing created. Then the playstation 2 came out and then a DS and then a x-box. So then we again thought we needed to have it and it was our life. Then the PSP came and the playstation 3 and the X-box 360. So know at my age(13)
We have X-box 360 and we say its our life its to die for. But in a couple of years there will be another cool game council and we will want that and soon enough will forget about the past game counsels.

Belize & Cruise
I love Belize. It is my favorite memory. We went there on a cruse and i had a blast. The best part about a cruise is that you dont have to make your bed and when they make your bed it is crisp and clean and it smells great. Another great thing is that if you go on a carnival cruise you get free icecream for youre whole trip. The other great things about it is that when you go on a carnival trip you people actually take you from our parents. Its not kidnapping its like child watch thing but better. When your older you get to do more fun stuff like stay after midnight and party all day long.

Essay response “The Hundredth Dove”
What if you killed something that was special but you didn’t believe it. In “The Hundredth Dove” by Jane Yolen the same thing happened. This book is good because it’s not a boring short story like other ones. The background is maybe a couple 100 years ago. That’s another reason why I like the story is because I like stories that happen long time ago. The other background is in England.
The characters in The Hundredth Dove, there is really not a lot of them, but there’s a king a fowler whose name is Hugh there’s also doves a slim, elegant, and white as milk it was gray-blue and meaty dove. There was also the kings’ wife whose name is lady Columbia which means dove. The characters in this book are well described. I could really picture the characters in my mind.
The king is getting married in one week of time. Since the women’s name means dove, the king ordered the fowler or Hugh to catch 100 doves. He took his mission and everyday he caught at least 20 birds but he could never catch one dove he was the quickest of them all. This book (short story) is really good as I already said.
Just as I like that one little paragraph I like this whole book overall. I tried my best to tell you the best I can in telling this book. I think Janen Yolen is one of the best short story writers. Scared
One time I was home alone and it was dark and I heard I thud form upstairs then a ring at the doorbell the I heard something strange to this very day I don’t know what it was but the I heard another thud so ran and hid under my table with a blanket over me then it when away so I went up stared and something ran past me and I felt wind but I know it was small so I turned around and I saw it was my cat he knocked over all my trophies so to this day when I hear a thud in my house i run screaming to a table with a blanket.

How the snake got poison
Do you believe in what you read. Well in this book How the snake got poison by Zora Neale Hurston is a good funny little short story. I recommend this book to not so little kids maybe 10 to 13, in the book there's a snake a few animals poison god and some people. Its not so religious but it tells the readers a silly way of how the snake got poison.
I think this book. Is good it makes you feel like your really in the book not like other where your reading but your mind is on another thing. I know that happens to me. I really like this book because its something that can make you smile and also its something that really funny.
There is not so much people in this book there is God a snake some animals and of course a snake. What happened is that he was of being trampled on so he went up to god and told him, so god gave him poison. That wasn’t a good idea to give him poison, but he did anyway.

Waves
Waves every time our family goes to the beach my little brother and me play in the waves we pretend were ninjas and trying to fight the evil forces of waves. Once their was a big wave 4 feet high and we called it the big dada cause u know it was big so when I went to go kick it litterly took me off my fet sand I land right into a hole full of sand I had sand everywhere it did not feel to good and then when u try to shower all of these little sand particulars come out of ur body and into your shower.

Best childhood memory
My favorite childhood memory would be actually something really funny. I was about 5 or 6 when we were in Ohio and I was learning how to ride my bike with two wheels, and its like the most scariest thing when I was little. So I was riding it and it was probably my 3rd week of learning so I thought I didn’t need gear on, but when I was riding down my side walk my dads car wasn’t parked in all the way so I was riding my bike and I ran right into my dads car my bike bounced of and I went fling in the air and I hit the grass, I was maybe a foot away from hitting concrete. And then I learned to always watch were you’re riding and where a helmet. So if you almost had the same experience comment and tell me what happened about you!
I remember this because this might not be funny to yall but it was funny to me. Ihad another one we went on a crusie and it was awesome we went to belize and jamaica, in belize we went cave tubing there was this hill that was high and i had to jump into my tube and i did i got a prize it was a free pinapple, that my seem funny but its not they are great there so juicy and deliouse. In jamaica we walked around and did stuff it wasnt has fun as belize though.

Elmo VS E.T. 2
Like in the other post Elmo destroyed E.T. but he came back by one person barney…….barney saw some dust then he started singing ''I love you love me'' then E.T. came back to life and barney and E.T. formed as a team, while Elmo is not knowing what's happing he is just sitting in his room watching Big Time Rush, and out of no where E.T. And barny swarmed in like the army and started punching Elmo and they tied him up, but two days went by and he broke out he faked being dead even though he was alive, so they thru him out but elmo got up started singing E.T. and barney saw and elmo ran away
lmo and then tied him to a chair. They put oil on him and the chair and oil starting from the kitchen so it looks like the kitchen exploded and they didn’t do anything. When barney laid down mach the oil started to turn on fire but elmo knows what coming so he hops in the chair till he reaches the window then he jumps and lands on the four sticks chair. And the rope broke and elmo ran away but barny was trying to catch up to him but elmo ran in front of a car and he jumped and it missed him but when barny tried he got hit and he was laying their but E.T. made him better, but elmo got away.

Chapters 4-6 for Hunger Games
What if you’re getting ready to kill someone but your great friends with them? Well haymitch who is a winner from the hunger games is really drunk. Peeta and Suzanne went down to haymitch for advise they got a no at first but haymitch thought and made them a deal it was they let him drink where ever and whenever he wants and he will teach them moves. When they got to district 1 Suzanne knows the only reason why people are here is because it’s a death match, she didn’t take it well but peeta took it well know she’s thinking if the bread was a trick or not.
Suzanne and peeta are getting ready for the game, but for the first match you have to dress nice and something that represents your district and for their district its coal mining. There were many costumes that have been worn by their district but the one that was the worst was one were that they had the girl naked with black coal. At first Suzanne thought for sure that she was going to be naked, but done with their cape…………..that turned on fire when they go the arena peeta was flirting. At first she went with it but she thought to herself, he’s trying to make me an easy target but she kissed him on the cheek where is bruise was.
When Suzanne and peeta got home they started to eat and this girl came up named anoxia which is a person who committed a crime so they cut their Tung off so they cannot speak. But Suzanne remembered her from somewhere she just doesn’t know where. Essay response for chapters 1-3 hunger games
A place that was North America is now known as Panem. The characters live in district 12 other known as the seam. So far Suzanne has lived through starvation. Once every 500 years their district they pick 12 boys and 12 girls. Effie who draws the names who go first and the kids, and she out of 11 girls picked Suzanne little sister prim. Whoever wins the hunger games gets showered with food for a whole 500 years.
Suzanne took prims’ place and stopped the arena; they never get a volunteer because the hunger game is a death mach. When Suzanne was ready to go up their she started to shed a few tears. When the name was called who she had to kill (or at least try) she had a flash back. It was one were her opponent he was trying to give the bread to her but the mother is very strict about him hanging around with the poor even though he’s poor, his father owns a bakery. That didn’t stop peeta from giving her bread to her they were set for a least a week. After Suzanne’s father died in a mine accident her mother was to desperate to even get out of her bed, but Suzanne was able to get her to eat, then she snapped out of her flash back she’s in reality now and she knew she had to kill the boy.

What if the dead came to life and could not die? Well when we behold the terrible loss of so many young lives, when we see so many physical of intellect and of glorious promise pitilessly cut off in their first flower, we are on the verge of despair. Fall is the best I like the smell of it and pumpkins oh and u cant forget about cinnamon that’s good stuff I mean fall is also the fall worst time for me my great grandma died in the fall we did a lot of things had together like a couple of years back wendys had this game called Kirby air ride it was a little board game but it was fun we used to go over to her house and spend the whole day their. Have you ever wanted to be a superhero and your mom and dad are famous superheroes? I know I want to. Well Ben was one of those kids, he didn’t really have superpowers. He was a human kid like you and me. He and his friends collect cards that I guess have powers. And one card is very rare and a very evil person stole the card and they had to get it back. They traveled through volcanoes and more and still no card. As the story goes on it gets more interesting.
Professor Brain-Drain is on the loose! This super villain menaces the fine super citizens of Superopolis, concocting evil-genius schemes and draining everyone's brainpower! And in this town, there's not a whole lot of that to begin with. But the AMAZING INDESTRUCTO will save the day! He is indestructible! He cannot be harmed by anything! He is the town's greatest superhero! Collect all sixty-four of his trading cards!
In the town of Superopolis, everyone has a superpower. Everyone, that is, except Ordinary Boy. He's well, he's pretty much ordinary. But that won't stop him from taking on super villains like the sinister Professor Brain Drain.

Other Places Ive been
Ive been to belize and jamica on a cruise it was so fun in belize we went cave tubing what u do is tht u go in a tube and u get to go down stream through a big dark cave. Super Name
My favorite hero batman. He is just like a regular person he doesn’t have any superpowers but he does have nice toys. Like big guns and big mussels. He's fought a lot of bad guys. Hes fought Joker and two face. And hes faced reguar bad people. I also like spiderman but he got bit by a radioactive spider so know he shoots webs form his arms.

Deep Water
If you were drowning would that feel good to you? Well in deep water by William O. Douglas this boy is afraid of water and he doesn’t know how to swim so one day he tried to learn how to swim. He swam back and forth for hours. But he had a flash back of when he started to be scared of water and how it affected him well water plowed over him and he couldn’t breathe and the water just kept hitting him and his dad kept smiling. Well this is just beginning but the middle is a little better.
This boy is very brave he went alone to YMCA where he learns how to swim. Well he just waited for more people to come well there comes a 17 year old, and he threw him into the deep end. Well remember he can’t swim so he was thrown into the deep end and he started drowning. Well when he hits bottom he will come up just like you pop a cork of a bottle of wine when it hits new years. Well when he hit bottom he tried to shoot up but it ended up him being slow like a 3 toed sloth.
There are not a lot of characters in this story but there is a mom, dad, a teenager, and a swimming teacher. Well the mom and the dad got divorced and when the little boy visited his dad he was surfing and he lost control then when he fell he kept getting hit by water and almost got killed. Well a couple years later he lives with his mom. The teenager throws the little boy to the deep end. And the swimming teacher teaches the little boy how to swim and he would practice 1 hour every hour. Then he learned how to swim.
Now I advise you to read deep water I read it and it was really good. I think teachers should give this to students and let them read it it is a very good short story the best I’ve ever read I can say that.
This boy is very brave he went alone to YMCA where he learns how to swim. Well he just waited for more people to come well there comes a 17 year old, and he threw him into the deep end. Well remember he can’t swim so he was thrown into the deep end and he started drowning. Well when he hits bottom he will come up just like you pop a cork of a bottle of wine when it hits new years. Well when he hit bottom he tried to shoot up but it ended up him being slow like a 3 toed sloth.
There are not a lot of characters in this story but there is a mom, dad, a teenager, and a swimming teacher. Well the mom and the dad got divorced and when the little boy visited his dad he was surfing and he lost control then when he fell he kept getting hit by water and almost got killed. Well a couple years later he lives with his mom. The teenager throws the little boy to the deep end. And the swimming teacher teaches the little boy how to swim and he would practice 1 hour every hour. Then he learned how to swim.
Now I advise you to read deep water I read it and it was really good. I think teachers should give this to students and let them read it it is a very good short story the best I’ve ever read I can say that.

The Pearl
The book pearl by John Steinbeck is a very slow book, but I recommended it to teens. It might be slow but it is very good Kino and Juana are the parents of the child coyotito who got stung by a scorpion which is very dangerous for a baby, they could die. Kino (the dad) was very calm and not mean in the beginning book, but when he found a pearl the size of an egg coyotito was not sick anymore. Juana (the mom) is also very calm and she wears raggedy clothes so does Kino. Although the begging of the book is great it gets even better in the middle of the book.
All the characters in the book are Kino, Juana, the doctor, pearl buyers, and coyotito. Let’s start with Kino; he’s very rich after he found the pearl. He bought a rifle and tried to use it to help coyotito not to die. He killed 4 people that tried to steal the pearl. He is very angry very hateful, because he fell in love with this pearl he found. Now Juana is very calm never mean never hateful. She started realizing the pearl was killing Kino and Juana relationship. The doctor was refusing to take care of the baby until Kino found the pearl, but he made the baby more sick cause he wanted the pearl all to him self. The pearl buyers say the pearl he found is worth nothing but Kino knows he’s lying so later in the book he killed him. Coyotito is very sick because the scorpion stung him and he could die. You think the middle is good well let’s go into the end of the book.
In the end of the book Juana steals the pearl and tried to destroy it but Kino finds her and literally beats her up to get the pearl away from her. And like I said in the seconded paragraph they went to the pearl buyers they said the pearl was nothing it was like only 100 dollars so later on he got killed. Juana and Kino have lost their house their love and almost the baby Juana saw this was going to happen she predicted it. Now to the conclusion.
In the end of the book Kino ends up rowing out to sea taking the pearl with him and his family and he took the pearl and he threw it into the green ocean and it sunk until it hit bottom and coyotito was still sick. But at least everything went back to normal.

Journal Refelction
The story is good and bad. Good because it action and suspense and the stir really ties in unlike other books. Bad because its slow and it just makes me tired. In the book there are mixed emotions. Kino is usually mad or sad he's never happy in the book so far. Now Juana is happy and sad she is mostly sad because she thinks her baby is going to die of poison but the baby is really fine the doctor just wants the pearl because they call it the pearl of the world. I really didn’t understand the story in the end but my frreinds helped me. The story is very good now it suspense to me and now I really do like the story.

Why does Juana believe the pearl will destroy her and Kino?
Juana believes it would tear them apart because everybody wants it. Everybody wants a little piece of the pearl. Many believe that Juana and Kino are going to be split up, but I on the other hand believe that they will stay together if Kino wants to be married in a church then why would they split up. The pearl wont destroy them because one they love each other and two Kino buried the pearl which means its killed.
